Details:

Run north on First Avenue, crossing the Willis Avenue Bridge into “da Bronx.” Being extra careful to pay attention to the highway traffic, turn left on E. 135th Street and then right on Morris Avenue. Turn left on E. 138th Street, running east to cross the Madison Avenue Bridge back into Manhattan (again, looking carefully at traffic as you approach the bridge). Coming off the bridge, turn left to run south on Madison Ave. to E. 135th Street, then turn right and run to Fifth Avenue. Turn left and run south along Fifth Avenue to W. 124th Street. You will run a semi-circle around Marcus Garvey Park, in the direction of the NYC Marathon, making a right turn and then two left turns. Run east on W. 120th Street to return to Fifth Avenue. Make a right turn to continue running south on Fifth Avenue. Make a right turn at Frawley Circle, running around the Duke Ellington statue and onto Central Park North (aka W. 110th Street). Run west to the entrance of Central Park at Malcolm X Bl. (aka 6th Ave.). Enter the park and turn right onto the Park Drive’s big loop as it climbs up Harlem Hill. Follow the road up and around to West Drive. Coming down the hill, you will turn left onto the 102nd Street transverse. Run east and then take a right onto East Drive, following it south to E. 90th Street. Exit Central Park and run east to First Avenue. Turn left (north) to complete your loop at E. 96th Street.

Mile Markers:

Mile 1: First Avenue and E. 116th Street
Mile 2: Willis Avenue and E. 135th Street
Mile 3: Madison Avenue and E. 135th Street
Mile 4: W. 120th Street approaching Fifth Avenue
Mile 5: On Central Park Drive, big loop, approaching the top of the first hill going west
Mile 6: East Drive, just south of E. 101st Street
Mile 7: E. 90th Street just east of Third Avenue
End: E. 96th Street and First Avenue (7.5 miles, give or take a few hundredths)

"Believe that you can run farther or faster. Believe that you’re young enough, old enough, strong enough, and so on to accomplish everything you want to do. Don’t let worn-out beliefs stop you from moving beyond yourself."
